"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son..." John 3:16

For the 2010 season, Braddock Independent presents: "The Passion"; a unique interpretation of the final hours of one of the most influential people to have ever lived... Jesus of Nazareth. The passion is both an historical event rooted in the past, and a living dynamic memory that gives meaning to the present. The passion of Jesus took place sometime around the year thirty A. D. in the turbulent world of first century Palestinian Judaism. A compelling religious teacher and extraordinary healer, Jesus was voluntarily arrested in Jerusalem and publicly beaten, flogged, scourged, crowned with thorns, mocked and finally executed by crucifixion. For the soundtrack, Braddock will rely on international recording/performing icon Peter Gabriel and his mini-epic piece, Signal to Noise. This composition, with it's subject matter about personal morality and compassion, has many twists and turns combining soaring vocals set against lush orchestral arrangements. It is a special cross-over experiment between western and world-music that Gabriel has become known for, with all of the subtlety, power and mood changes one would expect for an ensemble recognized for it's riveting performance qualities.
