Hello My Arsht Friends!!

(scroll down to request tickets)

As I guess you already know, I produce color guard/drum line competitions throughout South Florida, and I'm inviting all of you to see a show.

For a little context, SFWGA was established in 1980, and we produce about 7(ish) shows per year. Each show gets between 1,000-3,500 attendees, and in addition to the main event, we also have great food and a fun vendor area. (AJ
wants to have a vendor table at a few of the Miami-Dade shows, so keep your eyes peeled for those volunteer opportunities.)

We expect to host around 60 competitive teams this season - most of which are affiliated with high schools in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin Counties. We also have a couple hundred university students and even a few middle schoolers.  If you don't know about color guard or drum line, here are a few examples to check out.

Drum Line - Stryke Independent

Color Guard  - West Broward HS

If you're interested in attending a show, please use the form at the bottom of this page, or send me an email at chris@sfwga.org and I'll be happy to comp you and your guests. Our shows are a lot of fun if I do say so myself - I promise you'll have a great time.

For further info about specific shows, click the "EVENTS" link at the top of the page.

:) Chris

VOLUNTEERING  No pressure - I'm only including this section because a few people have already asked about it.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our shows. You already know what to expect - ticketing, telling kids not to run, providing general info, and directing people to the bathrooms - very similar to what we do at Arsht.

And now for the important bit... Anyone who signs up for a 4-hour shift gets access to the staff hospitality room. Throughout the day, we have access to tons of snacks, sweets, drinks, coffee, sandwiches, etc.
And around 5:00 pm, we stop the show so the staff can enjoy a catered dinner in a private dining room. That gives us a chance to chat and to meet the staff members who've flown in from across the country. It's a lot of fun.

If you're thinking about volunteering, here's what I'd suggest... Sign up for an afternoon shift (like 1-5). That way, you can work your shift, eat dinner with the staff, and then watch the rest of the shows after dinner (the best teams go on last, so those are the ones you'll want to see).
