Education Fund

Throughout the year, SFWGA organizes educational seminars and instructional events for our members free of charge. We are committed to fostering growth and continual education for all our members, administrators, contest staff, and local judges. Your tax-deductible donation to the SFWGA Education Fund helps us offset the costs associated with providing these educational opportunities to our community.

If you are interested in attending an SFWGA educational event, please contact info@sfwga.org.

Volunteer

Volunteer

Would you like to volunteer at one of our shows?  We have lots of positions available. We need volunteers to scan tickets, check in teams, monitor doors, supervise warm-up. We can't pay you, but we can feed you. We always have plenty of snacks on show days. Plus, if you volunteer for a full shift, we'll feed you dinner. And of course, you'll be able to watch your favorite shows.

In addition, we can always use extra help with office administration, social media, graphic design, web site, merch, etc. And SFWGA is a 501(c)3, so we're happy to certify your community service hours.

Volunteering for SFWGA is fun and rewarding. If you're interested, please contact volunteers@sfwga.org and let us know when you'd like to participate.

Gina Rose Montalto Memorial Foundation

A member of our SFWGA community, Gina Rose Montalto, was a victim of the mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14, 2018. The foundation was established in honor of her memory.
The Gina Rose Montalto Foundation will generously be sponsoring a merit based scholarship for a graduating senior the SFWGA this season.

Jeff Bridges Memorial Scholarship

In May 2021, the South Florida Winter Guard Association lost longtime board member, judge, clinician, and wise-man Jeff Bridges. His impact on marching bands, drum corps, and winter ensembles around the country is immeasurable. As one of our Hall of Fame Members, we know that the activity in South Florida would not be the same if it weren't for his decades of contributions and support to our community.

This scholarship fund is dedicated to support those members of the SFWGA that are also planning to march in drum corps for 2023 summer.

Please consider making a one-time contribution.

The Cookout Scholarship

In Celebrating years of dedication and service to WGI as Black and Brown people, The Cookout gives people of color whose roles as designers, choreographers, directors, technicians, volunteers and judges a safe space to come together and highlight achievements and celebrate that we are still creating, educating and inspiring the next generation of Colorguard.

The Cookout 23 is looking for young color guard performers of color to receive aid for their next school year. They even have a scholarship for a performer of color over age 25! Fill out all sections and remember to include a link to your introduction video.
